Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman talks about the network\'s growth, passionate fan base, and their upcoming program about the Icons of the conference.

Silverman joined the Big Ten Network in December 2006 after serving as the general manager and senior vice president of ABC Cable Networks Group, where he managed the company\'s equity in such channels as Lifetime Television, A&E Network and the History Channel. Silverman was also responsible for developing and launching new cable channels, shows and other key initiatives. He also served as the general manager of ABC Family Channel from 2003-04.

Prior to joining ABC Family, Silverman was co-founder and president of Silverkings Media, a media/entertainment consulting company, from 2001-03, and senior vice president of Broadband Sports, an online sports content company, from 1999-2001.

His previous experience also consists of various leadership roles with the Walt Disney Company from 1991-1999, including serving as vice president of business development for ABC, Inc., General Manager of ESPN Zone and vice president of Walt Disney Studios.

Jim Jackson

Jackson started all four years at Macomber High School in Toledo, Ohio. The former McDonald\'s All American led Macomber to the 1989 Division I state championship over Cleveland St. Joseph.
Jackson was recruited by the Ohio State University Buckeyes. The gifted swingman instantly contributed, starting as a freshman for the 1989-1990 season, Jackson averaged 16.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49.9% from the field. He played two more seasons through 1991-1992, earning consensus First Team All American honors in 1991 and 1992 UPI college basketball, and the UPIplayer of the year in 1992.
Jackson\'s number (22) was retired at Ohio State in 2001. Over his 14 NBA seasons, Jackson was on the active roster of 12 different teams, tying the league record. He is currently a basketball analyst on the Big Ten Network.
