Wolff has been a professional broadcaster in nine decades and is still going strong. We’ll talk about his early career in broadcasting, some of his contemporaries, some of his most memorable interviews, and calling the plays for some significant events. Bob Wolff

Bob Wolff is the longest running broadcaster in television and radio history, now in his eighth decade behind the microphone. The only broadcaster in history to call the championships of all four major pro sports, his historic calls include Don Larsen’s legendary perfect game in the 1956 World Series and the 1958 NFL Championship Game between the New York Giants and Baltimore Colts (“The Greatest Game Ever Played”). Wolff was the television and/or radio play-by-play voice of The New York Knicks and New York Rangers for twenty-seven years. In addition to his enshrinement in both the baseball and basketball Halls of Fame, he has also been honored with induction into Madison Square Garden’s Walk of Fame and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame. He lives with his wife, Jane, in South Nyack, New York.

Biography:

2011 (CHI): Traded to the Bandits from Akron Racers in exchange for Kristina Thorson on November 3, 2010.



2010 (AKR): Signed with the Akron Racers as a free agent after a year away from the NPF … Recorded a 6.83 ERA while going 2-3 from the circle … Struck out 26 hitters in 42 innings pitched ... Racers were bounced from the playoffs by the USSSA Pride.



2009: Did not compete in the NPF



2008 (WAS): Drafted by the Washington Glory as a rookie from University of Arizona ... Pitched her way to a 5-4 record with five complete games ... Struck out 62 batters in 67.2 innings with a 1.46 ERA.

Named 2007 WCWS Most Outstanding Player setting WCWS records for innings pitched (60), wins (6), complete games (8) and strikeouts (76) ... Won ESPY awards for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete ... In 2006 Mowatt became UA’s first 20 game winner since 2003.
