I love helping other people achieve their goals by leveraging my expertise and decades of experience in branding and marketing. I’m also a university professor of marketing, branding and career development, CMO for a maternity videography company, and an innovation consultant for a national ideation consulting firm. I’ve worked in marketing forever (more than 30 years — yikes!) and I have loved at least 95% of everything I’ve done. I’ve run marketing departments for large companies like Johnson & Johnson, Frito-Lay, Mission Foods, and Nestlé that took me all over the world. I was also a founder and part owner of entrepreneurial companies such as Skinny Snacks and Biovideo. I’ve screened thousands of résumés, interviewed hundreds of job candidates, hired scores of employees, and have mentored at least thirty interns. Recently, I started teaching marketing and branding to college students at 2 different universities, and I was shocked to learn how unprepared they were for their upcoming job search. I wrote my first book BRAND YOU! To Land Your Dream Job to help them — and you — find and land your ideal position. As a result, I became known as the “Accidental Career Coach.” Due to positive feedback and media features of that book, and requests from dozens of baby boomer friends and colleagues struggling to find well-paid jobs, I wrote this book to help mature professionals keep, find or create meaningful, enjoyable and profitable employment as long as they wish to work. And I learned so much valuable information that I can hardly wait to share it all with you! While writing this book, two more books “happened.” The first is 101 Great Jobs You Can Land Today, which showcases a wide range of jobs you might not have thought of, but might just be right for you now. They all pay a decent wage, require minimum training, and are relatively easy to land without a substantial investment of time or money. The second book is Claim Your Expert Status, which walks you step-by-step through the advanced stages of personal branding to establish you as an acclaimed expert in your field, a recognized authority and celebrity in your own right. It’s personal branding on steroids. These two companion books will be published in 2019 to help mature professionals like you maintain vibrant careers well into their 60s and 70s.
