Career development expert Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute? Guide to Rethinking Resumes and What Color Is Your Parachute? Guide to Rethinking Interviews discussed the rapidly changing way companies locate and hire employees. He explained why the value of a resume has declined, and how job hunters can use more effective alternatives. He said prospective employees must be as up-to-the-minute in job hunting skills as they are in the work skills that they offer an employer.

Jean Illsley Clarke, PhD, internationally known parent educator, and co-author of How Much Is Too Much?: Raising Likeable, Responsible, Respectful Children believes that many of today’s parents overindulge their children, often without even realizing it. She explained how to recognize overindulgence and why can be so damaging as kids grow into adulthood. She said assigning ongoing household chores to children is an excellent way to foster their responsibility and independence, and offered other tips for parents.
InfoTrak: Buying a Car with Bad Credit
Ron Montoya, Consumer Advice Editor at Edmunds.com offered suggestions for shoppers who have poor credit to buy a new car. He said it is important for potential buyers to carefully check and clean up credit reports before applying for a car loan, and to try to get pre-approval before shopping. He also outlined other ways that buyers can demonstrate that they are a good credit risk

Richard Bolles
Dick Bolles--more formally known as Richard Nelson Bolles--is the author of What Color Is Your Parachute? A Practical Guide For Job-Hunters and Career Changers, the most popular job-hunting book in the world.
The book has sold more than 10,000,000 copies to date, and is dramatically updated, reshaped and rewritten, every year. The 2014 edition is just out. \"Parachute\", as it\'s often called, has been translated into 20 languages and is used in 26 countries.
Dick is credited with founding the modern career counseling field, and is often described as the field\'s #1 celebrity. He was given the National Samaritan Award (previous honorees included Karl Menninger, Betty Ford, and Peter Drucker).
What Color Is Your Parachute? was chosen as one of the 100 All-TIME best and most influential non-fiction books published since 1923. It was chosen as one of 25 books that have shaped people\'s lives (down through history) by the Library of Congress\' Center for the Book.
Dick Bolles was chosen this year by Forbes Magazine, as one of the \"Wealth Wizards\" in the U.S.--(along with Warren Buffett, and 18 others). He is also one of LinkedIn\'s 300 \"Influencers\" or \"thought leaders,\" and writes regularly for that platform as well as a number of others.
He has three grown children: Stephen, Sharon and Gary. He and his wife Marci live in the San Francisco East Bay Area.

Raising Likeable, Responsible, Respectful Children - From Toddlers To Teens - In An Age of Overindulgence, Self-Esteem: A Family Affair and Growing Up Again: Parenting Ourselves, Parenting Our Children. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Development. Jean has been awarded three honorary doctorates. The first, an Honorary Doctor of Human Services from Sierra University, the second, an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Concordia University, St. Paul, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2013. She is a teaching and supervising member of the International Transactional Analysis Association and a Nationally Certified Family Life Educator. Recently she was named Distinguished Alumna of the Year and given the Larry Wilson Award by the College of Human Ecology at the University of Minnesota
