Sports and Torts: Hall of Famer Raymond Berry
Although he had just average speed, Berry developed 88 different moves to get open. He ran patterns within inches of how they were diagramed. In 1956, Johnny Unitas became the Colts’ quarterback and Raymond was ready to put all his hours of practice to use. Together the two gave the Baltimore Colts one of the greatest pass-catch teams of all time. Three straight times Raymond led the league in receptions and caught a then-record 631 passes for 9,275 yards and 68 touchdowns in his 13-year career. We look back on that amazing career in this nearly one-hour interview.

Kristen Nicole
Kristen Nicole is the Playboy Playmate for May 2013.”I absolutely love to travel and see the world,” says Miss May Kristen Nicole. “Spain, Rome, Venice, St.-Tropez—I can never get enough.” As grand as those destinations may be, sometimes the greatest escape is closer to home. “Mexico is my favorite getaway of all,” says the statuesque California-born-and-bred beauty. “And it’s right in my own backyard. From my airport to a Mexican beach is four hours.” Naturally we wanted Kristen to be happy, glowing and hot as a chili pepper for her pictorial. So off we jetted to a beachfront villa in Punta Mita on the Pacific coast, just in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Says Kristen, “I love Cinco de Mayo. Why? Because I love tequila. It’s my drink of choice.” When we got to the beach, Miss May didn’t need any tequila to loosen up in front of the camera—no surprise since she’s an accomplished bikini model. As for her Playmate status, she’ll drink to that: down the hatch with a shot of Patrón.
Ambitions: Designing interiors for high-end homes, modeling and appreciating all life has to offer.
Turn-Ons: I love nothing more than when an attentive man is kissing my neck and breasts. Heaven!
Turnoffs: 1. Men who can’t carry on a conversation. 2. Bad drivers have zero chance of getting into my pants; you’ve been warned! 3. Men who expect me to marry them for a shot of Patron
Quiet Time: Though I love to party and travel, I also have a calm homebody side. Reading by the fireplace, cooking a romantic dinner or just bedazzling whatever is in reach brings me true serenity.
My Philosophy: Hair and nails are a legitimate hobby.

Raymond Berry
ard work finally made Berry a star, but not until his third season of professional football. As an end at Southern Methodist University, he caught only 33 passes and scored 1 touchdown in 3 seasons. When he joined the Baltimore Colts in 1955, he was given little chance to make the team. However, coach \"Weeb\" Ewbank was impressed with Berry\'s practice habits and his good hands and kept him as a part-time player.
In 1957, Berry became a starting end and led the NFL in reception yardage with 800 on 47 catches, scoring 6 touchdowns. When the Colts won the league\'s championship in 1958, Berry led in receptions with 56 and in touchdown receptions with 9, gaining 794 yards. He had an additional 12 catches for 194 yards and 1 touchdown in the Colts\' celebrated 23-17 overtime victory over the New York Giants in the NFL title game.
Berry led the league in 1959 with 74 receptions, 959 yards, and 14 touchdowns, and led in receptions with 74 and yards with 1,298 the following season before undergoing knee surgery. Because of the operation, he was used primarily as a possession receiver for the rest of his career. In 1961, he caught 75 passes, his career high, but gained only 873 yards and didn\'t score.
Berry retired after catching only 11 passes in 1967. He held NFL records, since broken, with 631 receptions and 9,275 yards. He caught 68 touchdown passes.
The slender, 6-foot-2, 187-pound Berry lacked speed, but he developed a variety of moves to get free from defenders and he virtually never dropped a pass he could get his hands on. He constantly worked on catching the ball before and after formal practice, even recruiting sportswriters, groundskeepers, and equipment managers to throw to him.
Berry took over as head coach of the New England Patriots in 1984. The Patriots got into the playoffs as a wild-card team in 1985 and won three games on the road to reach the Super Bowl, where they were demolished 46-10 by the Chicago Bears. They won the AFC Eastern Division title in 1986 but lost to the Denver Broncos in the first round of the playoffs. Berry resigned during the 1989 season with a 51-41 record.
