Michael Shayne: Judge Thorman Shot

The character Michael Shayne was created by Brett Halliday, a pen name for American author Davis Dresser. He wrote dozens of novels, including many featuring Michael Shayne. The red-headed Irish-American detective debuted in the novel Dividend on Death, first published in 1939. Not only was it a very successful book series, but Shayne would be featured in films, on TV, and on radio. Here\'s Jeff Chandler as Shayne in an episode from 1/14/1947.
