The Adventures of Philip Marlowe first aired on June 17, 1947, on NBC radio as \"The New Adventures of Philip Marlowe.\" Initially, Van Heflin played the role of Marlowe. However, when the show moved to CBS in 1948, Gerald Mohr took over and became the voice most associated with Marlowe on the radio.
